I need to run a batch file on my CentOS VPS. however, obviously Batch Files are Windows based, so is there any way at all I can run a command similar to this?

Look at this:

The 2 openBSD have 3 link (2 apache + 1 with the other openBSD)
The 2 openBSD use CARP protocol to have a virtual IP adresse, it’s the High availabilty part.
The 2 openBSD use relayed to load balance at “level 7″ between 2 Apache, it’s the cluster part.

The 2 Apache (FreeBSD) don’t need cluster software.
Perhaps we can use HAST, that’s all.

The 2 openBSD can be virtual, it’s only 500Mo hard drive, no ports to install (relayd + pf are on base system).

I have added apache application into redhat cluster. if the apache process failed, it will cause the service group fail over.
I want to disable the application monitoring. I search throung Internet and it depends on the apache init script. if I change /etc/init.d/httpd status always return 0(success). THe service group will not fail over even apache failed.

However, I want to remain the application monitoring but stop failover. if the application like apache failed, I want Redhat cluster to try restart the application like 3 or 4 times. if restart failed, it will not failover.

Any ideas?

After I click on the “feather” icon, a black window pops up and goes away! I don’t know why, if I look at the programs running, it says Apache Monitor is running but I don’t see anything apache at all! please please please help!
We spent 4 hrs in class trying to figure this out! so many people had problems, when I went home…and did it myself I got it. WOoh what a relief!

I’m running Linux Slackware 10.1. with Apache. I use the machine only for home experimental use (scripting etc) and generally shut it down when not in use. My question however relates to when I boot the system up, as I now need to remove the monitor it uses to use on another machine. Therefore, is it possible, once the machine has been turned on and booted to the log in prompt to login remotely from another system?

The only time the monitor actually gets used is to see the login and password process, and then everything else is done remotely (Telnet/CRT etc). I even shutdown remotely, but not sure if I can login remotely (as root or supperUser). It’s such a waste to have a monitor in use for just that 10-second process only, when it could be used for something else (in this case, a system about to run Linux Ubuntu).

Any assistance is much appreciated.
