php editor/compiler that shows the exact error?

I have been using portable webservers (like netserver ,XAMP ) to load a php page on my PC. But the problem with these portable servers is that if there is any error with my php code, there is no indication or error message.
I want an editor or php compiler that shows exactly where the error is in my php code. what can I use ?
